Frequently asked questions

How long does a Starlink installation take?

Most residential installs are completed in 2–4 hours. Commercial or remote sites with long cable runs may take a full day. We book a morning or afternoon slot and leave everything tested and working before we go.

How soon can you book me in?

We typically have availability within 1–2 weeks across Lewis, Harris and the Uists. Remote crofts or Barra may need a little more notice to coordinate ferry logistics.

Do I need to order the Starlink kit myself?

Yes — you order the kit directly from Starlink and have it delivered to your address. Once it arrives, contact us to arrange the install. We can advise on the right kit (Standard, High Performance or Mini) during a free pre-install chat.

What mounting options are available?

We install roof mounts (tile or metal roof brackets), heavy-duty pole mounts, wall brackets and ground mounts with concrete bases. We choose the option that gives the clearest sky view and best wind resistance for your site.

Will Starlink work in Hebridean storms?

Starlink is designed for harsh weather, but heavy rain or snow can briefly reduce speeds. Our weather-sealed cable entry and solid mounting minimise the risk of physical damage, and we can advise on heating options for extreme conditions.

Can you relocate or re-aim my dish?

Yes — if you move house, build an extension or simply need a better line of sight, we can relocate the dish and re-run cabling. We also handle obstructions that appear after initial install, such as new tree growth.

Do you cover repairs and troubleshooting?

Absolutely. As a local installer we provide ongoing support — cable faults, re-aiming after high winds, router upgrades and general troubleshooting. You are not alone once the install is done.
